The Tasmanian Government has released Change for Children, a 10-year strategy to protect children and young people by preventing, identifying, and responding to child sexual abuse.
This important plan strengthens efforts to make sure every child and young person in Tasmania grows up safe, healthy, and supported.
More than 450 organisations and individuals—including victim-survivors, their supporters, children and young people—helped shape the strategy. Through workshops, consultations, and a co-design process, their voices have been heard to drive real and lasting change.
The strategy goes beyond the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry, taking a whole-of-community approach to making sure child-safe cultures and systems are in place. It represents a strong commitment to caring for and protecting children and young people, creating a safer future for generations to come.
